A subsidy is how your organization enables learners to enroll in a course. Licenses, codes, and learner credit (also referred to as "offers") are all different subsidies.
License refers to our subscription licenses. It offers unlimited access to many of our most popular courses. Our subscription catalogs only include self-paced courses, and excludes most MicroMasters courses. Please see the full catalog for Business clients here and the full catalog for Education clients here.
Codes or coupon codes are typically 100% discount codes and do not have a specific value attached, though we do create discount codes if the contract specifies such. They cannot be used for programs as a whole but can be used for the courses within a program, but rather issued to cover the individual courses which may be applied to upgrade individual courses that are part of a program in order for learners to complete the program' courses. Codes are managed by a designated admin at the customer's company or organization. Learn more about Code Management here.
Learner Credit, also referred to as "offers", enable learner to enroll in a course without asking for payment or a code.
NOTE: As of October 1, 2023, this function is only possible if the employer is using single sign-on (SSO) or a link for learners to be able to be tied to the enterprise. Future releases of the platform will improve this function and learner experience.
