This article explains how Learner Credit is spent.
How learners spend learner credit is governed by the Learner Credit budget. There are three means of budget customization that allow learner credit to be spent, as set and controlled by the learner credit budget:
Automatically applied Learning credit: Learner credit will automatically be applied to the learner account. When attempting to enroll into a course, learners will see that the price is 100% subsidized by their learner credit allocation and will be granted access at no cost to them. The learner credit will be deducted from the organization’s budget upon successful enrollment.
Course Assignment: If desired, enterprise administrators can have complete control on which courses are spent by which learners. Administrators can use our branded Enterprise administrative portal to see all courses associated with a particular budget of learner credit. Administrators can select a course they wish to grant access to, and then indicate which learners should receive the access. This marriage of course and learners will create “pending assignments” and will set aside the portion of the course cost to the learner credit budget. The targeted learners will be notified of the assignment and will be taken through a flow that leads to enrollment. Upon enrollment, the learner credit will no longer be reserved but deducted from the budget and learners will gain access to the course materials.
Learner Requests Access: Learner credit also facilitates learner-driven demand. An Enterprise administrator can let an infinitely large number of potential learners explore the courses available on the branded learner portal. Should a learner find a course or presentation of interest, they can click a “request” button which will notify their administrator. If the administrator approves the request, the learner will be granted enrollment, and the learner credit will be deducted from the organization’s budget.
