Normally, learners who want to qualify to earn a certificate for an edX proctored course must verify their identity, using a process that requires a webcam and a government-issued photo ID.
If you have implemented an SAML SSO integration, edX can optionally configure your edX for Business account so that your learners who access edX through the SSO integration do not need to separately verify their identities. Instead, the SAML SSO authentication process is sufficient to verify their identities for the purposes of qualifying for an edX certificate.
